Hello! I’ve decided to start another blog (other than my photo blog: http://www.carinaromano.com/folio/), to be an ode to all my thrifting and DIY projects.
I don’t think much about it, but I do love to shop at thrift stores, go through the trash, and find alternative ways of building stuff that I can’t afford in stores. It’s mainly because I have very specific tastes in what I like, and can’t ever afford what I want new… so I try to find them second hand. Most of the time, I do a pretty good job at it.
Over the past year I’ve been starting odd little collections for no reason other than, I think it’s neat. Friends of mine have come to my house or studio and exclaimed how much they like my couch/cross-stitch collection/dish set/etc. I’ve got a list of thrift stores I like to go to and a rating system of how good I think they are based on distance/prices/square footage/and what kind of people typically donate to the particular store. I keep this list mentally in my head, as well as a list of where each item I purchased came from and how much I paid for it.
So this blog is going to be a place where I put all that information. Right now I have a bunch of stuff I need to photograph and post about… but in additional to all of that, I’ll also post any DIY projects I undertake, as well as other cool stuff I think is neat.
